Bespoke Training

At Exova what we do best is take new legislation or a technical issue and present it in such a way that it is understandable, and relevant to the clients needs. It may take the form of adapting a generic course such as Food Factory Inspections and tailoring it so that all the exercises reflect the clients product and processes. Alternatively it may mean researching a new piece of legislation, deciding how it is relevant to the client’s business and training the skills or imparting the knowledge that will be necessary for the new context.

Perhaps the best way of illustrating how bespoke training works is by a few examples:

1. Bespoke training allows you to discuss your products and their labels in confidence with our trainers.

A food manufacturer had a series of staff changes that left a lack of experience in writing product specifications. They could have sent new employees on a generic food labelling course but felt in the circumstances they needed training specifically focussed on their product. Exova were able to take a generic training course and use one of the customer’s actual recipes as the example used throughout the course. All role plays and exercises were rewritten to reflect the customer’s product and market.

2. Bespoke training is ideal when flexibility of training delivery is needed

A food manufacturer was changing their production process from a Quality Control to a Quality Assurance basis. This meant that line operatives would have much more responsibility for quality and needed an appreciation of HACCP. A large number of employees needed training in a short period of time without production grinding to a halt. Exova were able to devise an introduction to HACCP lasting about an hour and provided it during production breaks

3. Bespoke training is flexible enough to allow for customer or external inputs

A retailer wanted to provide training for suppliers on a new piece of legislation and how it would affect delivery slots.  Exova provided time within the training for the retailer to explain changes in its logistics.

4. Bespoke training is extremely cost-effective when you have 5 or more delegates

A company wanted to spread the burden of internal quality audits across a team of about 6 employees. Exova provided a shortened Food Factory Inspection Course at considerably less cost than individually attending open courses.
