With significant investments in new technology at Exova’s Grimsby laboratory, the company is now able to offer Water Activity Analysis for foodstuffs and has been granted UKAS accreditation.
“Water Activity (Aw) is an important factor in Microbiological Risk Assessment of food, whether ambient stable or chilled, and invaluable in the performance of HACCP. Information on Aw, aligned to that of the pH of food matrices, can supply important information for the NPD process that can enhance food safety aspects and shelf life durability,” explains Simon Cliff, Business Development Manager.
Water Activity now complements the other services offered at Grimsby which include:-
- Full group 2 nutritional analysis,
- Chemical analysis including Histamine, nitrate and nitrite,
- Microbiological Analysis
- Potable and process water analysis
