| | | | First BRC Global storage standard for Chiltern | | | | | | 21st August 2007
Chiltern Cold Storage Group Ltd has become the first temperature controlled logistics provider in the UK to secure the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global standard for storage and distribution, audited by Bodycote Law Laboratories.
Operating from its Peterborough base, Chiltern develops and manages, on a 24/7 basis, tailor-made solutions in storage and distribution for a range of customers covering the food manufacturing and foodservice sectors. Meeting the requirements of the BRC Storage and Distribution means ensuring best practice standards are developed, implemented and maintained to maximise product safety and integrity right through the supply chain. Chiltern Cold Storage opted to undertake the stringent auditing process of the BRC Standard as part of its commitment to ensuring a seamless quality transition from manufacturer to retailer.
Paul Jackson, Managing Director of Chiltern Cold Storage Group said:
“The highly acclaimed BRC Global Standard is an important step for Chiltern Group since it provides a common auditing platform encompassing the fundamental principles of both existing industry and retailers own standards. Traceability is now more significant than ever in the food industry and, although a stringent auditing process, BRC assures the highest levels of operating standards within the supply chain. We are delighted to have achieved the standard as it is recognition of our commitment to quality.”
