In 2008, Bodycote Testing Group was bought by Clayton, Dubilier and Rice, (CD&R), a global private equity firm whose strategy is to build on the excellent reputation in testing services and to expand the company’s sphere of influence.

In April 2005, Bodycote Testing acquired Law Laboratories Limited and this was followed by the acquisition of Allied Laboratory Services in Grimsby in June 2005 and Tetra laboratories also in Grimsby in January 2006. In 2006, we aquired Bodycote Norpath in County Durham in July, Bodycote Consultus, Cork, Ireland in November. We plan to provide a comprehensive network of laboratory and advisory services addressing the food and consumer products market by both acquisition and organic growth.

Rebranded as Exova in 2009, the company continues to find success as a market leader through developing our people and expertise, select acquisitions, continuous investment in technology and facilities as well as the development of strategic partnerships.

From our headquarters in Edinburgh, Exova operates from over 130 facilities in 25 countries and employs over 4000 people.
